August 2024 began with a flourish, marking not just a month but a momentous chapter in my career as an event illustrator: an experience that stood out—a career highlight that I will cherish forever.

Imagine stepping into one of the most iconic and revered museums in the world, not as a visitor, but as an artist with a mission. Yes, I had the incredible honor of drawing at the Louvre. The grandeur of the venue, coupled with the significance of the occasion, made this a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Adding to the magic was the company of my dear friend Véronique Jacquart. Not only did Véronique’s presence make the event more delightful, but she also ensured I had the full Parisian experience. Her warmth and expertise turned this professional engagement into a true Parisian adventure, blending work with the cultural richness that only Paris can offer.

One of the most surreal moments was stepping out of the Louvre and being greeted by the sight of the Olympic flame, a symbol of unity and achievement. It felt symbolic—like a personal and professional victory, a moment where art, history, and global unity converged.

Though I can’t reveal any details, what I can say is this: drawing in such an iconic location, surrounded by history and alongside a dear friend, is something I will hold close forever. It was more than just work—it was a celebration of art, friendship, and the beautiful surprises life can bring.

The drawings you see here are the exercises I did in advance as a preparation for this event.
